Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gradually move your teeth into their planned positions. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately one to two weeks before progressing to the next set. During your consultation, Dr. Agapas will perform a comprehensive orthodontic examination and determine whether Invisalign is the most appropriate treatment based on your smile goals, bite, and overall orthodontic needs.

Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your orthodontic needs and how consistently you wear your aligners. Many patients complete Invisalign treatment in approximately 12 to 18 months, although some cases may take more or less time. Wearing your aligners as instructed is one of the most important factors in achieving the best possible results.

For Invisalign to work effectively, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours each day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing. Wearing your aligners consistently helps keep your treatment on schedule and allows your teeth to move according to your customized treatment plan.

Remove your aligners whenever you eat. After eating, brush your teeth before replacing them whenever possible. If you aren't able to brush immediately, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and replace your aligners. Brush as soon as you can afterward. If you drink beverages other than water, we recommend removing your aligners occasionally to rinse both your mouth and the aligners.

The goal is to keep your aligners in 20 to 22 hours each day while maintaining excellent oral hygiene.
